Self Evaluation For European Schools (SEFES)

Final documentation of the project

SEFES is a COMENIUS SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, funded by the SOCRATES PROGRAMME, EUROPEAN COMMISSION. The project focuses on self-evaluation as an instrument for improved education. Schools from five European countries successfully worked together from 2004 till 2006 with the common goal to establish a culture of self-evaluation at the participating schools. A really demanding task.

Various evaluation methods were used, compared, and improved in five countries. The attendance of COMENIUS courses and COMENIUS network conferences was as helpful as the support by pedagogical institutions in Hamburg and Reykjavik . Hamburg was the coordinating school of the project.

This website documents the process and the main results of the common project.  You are offered more detailed information, if you look at each participating school.  This may encourage you to get in contact with the SEFES members or to start similar activities.
